SRINAGAR: Police recovered a kidnapped minor girl and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of the crime, a spokesman of the Jammu and Kashmir police said.
On May 15, the spokesman said the police station at Kulgam received a complaint from a person stating therein that his daughter (name withheld) had been kidnapped by one person namely Aadil Akbar Bhat @Rahul son of Mohammed Akbar Bhat resident of Wazeerpora Bogund.
In immediate follow-up, the police registered FIR No 84/2021 under relevant sections of law and investigation was initiated.
During the course of the investigation, a team headed by SHO was constituted. Acting on specific leads, the team was able to recover the kidnapped girl and arrest the accused person within 24 hours after the complaint.
After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl has been handed over to her legal heirs. Investigation into the matter is in progress.
