SRINAGAR: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested eight more persons on Friday in Jammu and Kashmir.

The agency conducted searches at 10 locations in Srinagar, Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama, Anantnag and Baramulla, leading to the arrest of Adil Ahmad War a resident of Srinagar, Manan Gulzar Dar a resident of Srinagar, Hilal Ahmed Dar a resident of Kupwara,  Sobhia a  resident of Parimpora Srinagar, Rouf Bhat a resident of Anantnag, Shaqib Bashir a resident of Kupwara, Zamin Adil a resident of Srinagar and Haris Nisar Langoo in RC-29/2021/NIA/DLI.

“The case relates to conspiracy for undertaking violent terrorist acts in J&K and other major cities, by cadres of proscribed militant organisations Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ulMujahideen (HM), Al Badr and their affiliates such as the Resistance Front (TRF), People Against Fascist Forces (PAFF) etc,” said the statement.

“NIA had registered the case as RC 29/2021/NIA/DLI) dated 10.10.2021 and initiated the investigation. Till now 13 accused persons have been arrested in this case by NIA,” it added.

“Electronic devices and incriminating jehadi documents/ Posters etc. have been seized today during the searches,” reads the statement.

“The eight accused persons arrested are operatives of various proscribed militant organisations and have been instrumental in providing logistical and material support to militants,” it added.

Further investigation in the case continues, reads the statement issued by NIA.
