SRINAGAR: A woman lost her life after being struck by lightning during adverse weather conditions in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Tuesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Pinki Devi, daughter of Ram Krishan and a resident of Kuddhar Baneel village in the Kastigarh area of the district.
Officials said the incident occurred amid inclement weather when a lightning strike hit the woman, causing fatal injuries. She died at the scene.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed grief over the incident and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family. In a post on X, he said, “My sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Pinki Devi from Khuddhar, Doda, who tragically passed away due to a lightning strike.”
The Lieutenant Governor stated that the Deputy Commissioner of Doda had been directed to provide immediate relief and extend all necessary assistance to the family.
