SRINAGAR: A woman from the Dooru area of Anantnag has allegedly died due to medical negligence at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag. Authorities have now formed a committee to investigate the incident.

Relatives of the woman from Qamar Dooru informed the news agency KNO that they had been waiting for her echocardiogram, from 10 am in the morning to 3:30 pm but were not permitted to enter the room where the echo procedure was being conducted.

“While waiting for her turn, she passed away, and even the doctors at the hospital informed us that she died due to low oxygen levels,” they stated.

“It is a case of negligence on the part of the staff, and the authorities must conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and take appropriate action against the staff responsible for the negligence,” they demanded.

Meanwhile, a hospital official told KNO that they have established a committee to look into the incident.

“We will certainly take action against individuals found involved in any form of negligence,” he assured. (KNO)
