SRINAGAR: A woman was injured after being attacked by a wild bear in the Fagow area of Banihal in Ramban district on Monday, officials said.
Quoting an official, news agency KNO reported that the woman was attacked by the bear near Banihal and sustained injuries. She was shifted to Banihal Hospital for treatment.
The injured woman was identified as Shakeela Begum, wife of Shabir Ahmad Naik.
Meanwhile, locals urged the authorities to take necessary measures to prevent such attacks in the area.
