SRINAGAR: The Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Rajouri, has suspended the Registration Certificate (RC) of a vehicle after a video showing a woman performing a stunt on its bonnet while it was being driven on a National Highway in Sidhra, Jammu, surfaced on social media.
The RC of the vehicle, bearing registration number JK11B-8314 (LMV) and registered in the name of Joni Kumar, was suspended with immediate effect, according to the transport authorities.
The authorities said the act constituted a serious violation of traffic rules and road-safety norms and posed a risk to the woman, pedestrians and other road users.
The vehicle owner has been directed to submit the driving licence of the driver within seven days for examination and further action under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
