A woman from South Kashmir’s Islamabad district sustained severe burn injuries after allegedly set on fire by her in-laws at Kokernag on Friday.
Official sources told a local news agency, GNS that Shubi Jan (25) wife of Bilal Ahmad of Takiya Magam, Kokernag was injured critically after her in-laws allegedly set her on fire in Takiya Magam.
“She was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment, where doctors confirmed that she has nearly 40 percent burns on her body,” sources said.
The doctors at the hospital performed tracheotomy upon her as she had had inflammation in the windpipe due to which she had complication in breathing.
Meanwhile, police has registered a case and has started further investigations in this regard.
