SRINAGAR: A woman’s body was discovered under mysterious circumstances in Srinagar’s Bemina, and her family has accused her husband of murder.
The deceased, identified as Tanveera, the wife of Showkat Ahmad Kaloo from Nundresh Colony, Bemina, was found in the Durbal area early in the morning.
As news of Tanveera’s death spread, an atmosphere of sadness enveloped the area, with local residents and the family alleging that Tanveera had been murdered by her husband.
Family members of the deceased said that the relationship between Tanveera and her husband had been strained for a long time.
“She left behind a 4-year-old daughter. This tragedy occurred because of her husband,” they said.
According to them, Tanveera left her home for court on Monday around 2 pm and had not returned since then. Her phone was switched off, they added. In the morning, her husband arrived and showed them a photograph of her lifeless body, they said.
“It’s a pre-planned murder. A rope was tied around her neck. It’s a murder, and she has been killed by her husband,” alleged Tanveera’s brother, Parvaiz Ahmad, as per KNO.
“Our daughter had been married for the last 14 years, and her husband used to beat her on a daily basis,” her brother alleged.
“We approached the police many times because she was injured numerous times due to the harsh beatings. Today, her husband crossed all limits and killed my sister,” her brother said, urging the police to conduct a thorough investigation.
Officials said that a formal FIR has been registered, and an investigation is underway. (KNO)
