Highlighting the importance of Women empowerment and safety, Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar said that their education is vital for growth of the society and shaping the future of the nation.

The Minister was speaking on the occasion of Annual Day cum Prize Distribution function of Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar, in Jammu on Friday, an official statement said.

The Minister said that educated woman needs to stand up against all odds and discrimination with a bold face.

He stressed that women have a larger role to play in building a civilized society and urged the students that as prospective mothers they need to take it as a challenge and re-establish the position of woman as the most important creature of God, the statement said.

The Minister complimented students and faculty members for achieving new heights in various fields and congratulated them for climbing the rung of success in academic as well as other activities.

Akhtar was the Chief Guest while Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture, Priya Sethi was the Guest of honour on the occasion.
