A 10 day State Exhibition for the promotion of women entrepreneurship concluded Wednesday in Srinagar. The event was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Women’s Development Corporation.
Women entrepreneurs across the state who avail various loan schemes offered by JKWDC had set up stalls at the event selling hand-made articles like embroidered shawl, crewel curtains, hand bags and clutches.
“I have a boutique at Hyderpora. There is a team of young girls I work with,” says Shaheena who sits at one of the stalls. “This exhibition has given them a platform to showcase their talent in embroidery and even sell the articles they prepare.”
The exhibition is a part of objectives set by JKWDC for skill development training of women and framing of Self Help Groups amongst them for providing micro credit.
