The JPA programme presents a golden opportunity for individuals passionate about making a difference in the world. Successful candidates will work alongside seasoned professionals, contributing their strong analytical skills, technological acumen, and research abilities to projects addressing diverse challenges in areas such as economics, finance, human development, social sciences, agriculture, environment, infrastructure, and corporate functions.

Eligible candidates, aged 28 or younger on their first day of service, must hold the equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree with a superior academic record. Proficiency in English is a must, and fluency in one or more of the World Bank’s working languages – Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian, or Spanish – is a significant advantage. The World Bank emphasizes its commitment to diversity, seeking applicants with a broad range of backgrounds.

Accepted individuals will receive a non-renewable Extended Term Consultant (ETC) contract with benefits, providing a premier opportunity for hands-on experience in a leading development institution. Although highly competitive, the recruitment process is ongoing throughout the year, with positions available globally.

Applications will remain active for six months, after which interested parties must reapply. The World Bank, an equal opportunity and inclusive employer, does not discriminate based on gender, gender identity, religion, race, colour, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or disability.

The JPA assignment, while not an entry point for a long-term career at the World Bank, offers a stepping stone to various career paths, including government, consulting, private sector, academia, or other development agencies. Former JPAs may even rejoin the organization later in their careers after gaining expertise in their respective fields.

The World Bank, known for its commitment to excellence and diversity, reaffirms that poverty knows no borders, and success is driven by embracing differences. The organization continuously seeks qualified individuals worldwide to contribute to its mission of reducing poverty and promoting shared prosperity.
