Expressing deep grief over the “martyrdom” of Waseem Mushtaq who succumbed to pellet injuries, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Wednesday said the terror unleashed by pellets still claim people’s lives.

In a statement issued here, Shah said dozens of pellets victims are in critical condition. He said the last year’s wounds are still afresh in our hearts and minds and we can never forget the 2016 “martyrs”.

“We will continue to ask the world leadership to make India stop the use of lethal weapons like pellet guns,” he said.

Shah said, people need to realise that there is a need to ostracise the killer rulers.

Talking to parents of Shaheed Waseem over phone, Shah urged them to exhibit patience and said, “We should never forget the pain and oppression unleashed upon us by India but have to continue with our mission of freedom.”

He prayed for heavenly abode for the martyr and forbearance to the bereaved family.

On Shah’s directions, a party delegation comprising Master Ghulam Mohiuddin, Bashir Ahmad, and Ghulam Rasool visited Suchh, Kulgam, and expressed condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family.
