Incumbent MLA Langate, Er Rasheed Thursday said that he will hold a 48 hour sit in on Friday outside CM Mehbooba Mufti’s Srinagar residence to remind her that she cannot run away by justifying every “shameless disasters act”.

In a statement issued here, Rasheed said that police Thursday used force to foil AIP’s march against issuing domicile certificate to WP Refugees.

He said that despite police restrictions hundreds of protestors lead by AIP president and MLA Langate, Er Rasheed started marching towards Lal Chowk from municipal park, however large contingent of police and para-military forces used force to disperse the protesters.

“At least eight protestors were injured in the scuffle and police dragged dozens of protestors including Er Rasheed and lodged them in police station Kothibagh, where they were abused and manhandled by the cops. Three of the injured persons were shifted to hospital. Before being arrested Er Rasheed while talking to media persons accused New Delhi of pushing Kashmiris to the wall and added that people of J&K will never succumb to the dirty tactics of New Delhi.”

Appealing people of Jammu to understand that granting domicile to WP refugees will harm more interests of Jammu people, Er Rasheed said, “All efforts to change the demography of state and resettle non-state subjects will be fought tooth and nail. Despite the fact that the issue is a desperate attack to change the Muslim character of the state, the decision would affect the rights of Dogras in Jammu region as well.”
