A wreath-laying event was held on Sunday in District Police Lines Anantnag where tributes were paid to the slain SgCt Riyaz Ahmad who was killed in an attack at Hiller area of Kokernag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
A police spokesperson in a statement said senior police officers including DIG SKR, SSP Anantnag and other police officers laid floral wreaths on the mortal remains and paid rich tributes to the slain for the supreme sacrifice made in the line of duty.
The spokesman said that the slain Riyaz Ahmad is survived by parents, wife, 23-year-old son Arif Riyaz, 19-year-old son Sharik Khan and 17-year daughter Bazila Riyaz.
“We pay our rich tributes to the slain for his supreme sacrifice made in the line of duty. We stand by his family at this crucial juncture,” said police spokesman in a statement.
