Two militants have been killed during an encounter between the government forces and militants in Katapora village of Yaripora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday late evening.
Reports said that during the encounter two militants were killed, however, the identity of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained.
The gunfight started after a joint team of army’s 34 RR, CRPF and SOG cordoned off Katapora village of Yaripora area after getting specific information about the presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon government forces triggering an encounter.
Meanwhile, authorities have also snapped the internet services Kulgam district for “security reasons.”
