SRINAGAR: A delegation led by former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha on Thursday met Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee President Tariq Hameed Karra at his Shivpora residence in Srinagar, holding detailed deliberations on the prevailing situation in the Union Territory and broader regional developments.
Karra was accompanied by All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir, and party MLA Nizamuddin Bhat during the meeting.
The visiting delegation included Kapil Kak, Former Air Vice Marshal; Bharat Bhushan, noted civil society member; Soshoba Barve, peace activist; and Sinha.
According to party sources, the discussions centred on political, social, and economic issues confronting Jammu Kashmir, as well as the overall scenario in the subcontinent. Both sides exchanged views on the importance of dialogue, peace-building measures, and inclusive engagement for the region’s stability.
The meeting forms part of a series of interactions held by Sinha and his team with political and civil society leaders in the Valley to gauge the ground situation and promote reconciliation efforts.
