SRINAGAR: A young man was shot at in a Shopian village. He was identified as Shabir Ahmad Teli, a resident of Zawoora.

Teli, son of Abdul Samad, has a minor injury in his right foot and was shifted to B&J hospital in Srinagar.

Teli has told his doctors at Bathipora, where he was treated and give first aid that he was shot at by army men. They told medical staff that they were a group of youth talking and sitting when soldiers moved around. Army men allegedly chased them and opened fire.

SP Shopian Tahir Saleem told Kashmir Life that the soldiers from 44-RR were on way to their garrison when they received “two bursts” from an apple orchard which they returned. It was during this that one civilian was injured.
