Srinagar: A youth has fled from police custody in Keagam village of Shopian district in southern part of Kashmir on Monday, sources told Kashmir Life. The youth, sources said, was detained under Public Safety Act.

They said that Zubair Ahmad Turray, arrested in 2015 for his alleged involvement in stone-pelting protests, escaped from police post today.

He is a resident of Bonbazar area of Shopian.

When contacted the SP office of district Shopian feigned ignorance about the incident. Police station Shopian couldn’t be contacted despite repeated attempts.
