Following the killing of a youth in HMT last late evening, forces and youth engaged in clashes in the area since early Sunday.
Reports and witnesses said that youth early today blocked Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway and when police and paramilitary forces reached the spot it turned in to ding dong battles.
In the ensuing clashes, scores of youth were injured inside Zainakote area while the vehicles are plying normally on highway now.
The youth were protesting killing of Gowhar Nazir Dar, an engineering student of SSM engineering college.
He was hit by a tear gas shell on Saturday evening allegedly fired by CRPF personnel. Government ordered a magisterial enquiry into the incident.
Cops used tear gas shells to disperse the youth, however, they continued pelting stones on the forces.
