A youth was injured on Monday after the government forces allegedly opened fire on protestors in Hawoora, Redwani area of district Kulgam.
A police officer told news agency GNS that army’s Ist RR party came under heavy stone pelting at Hawoora.
“The government forces opened several rounds resulting in injuries to a youth identified as Arif Ahmad Lone son of Abdul Rashid Lone,” he said.
Arif was immediately shifted to sub-district hospital Qaimoh where from he was referred to district hospital Islamabad for specialised treatment. (GNS)
An official from district hospital Islamabad said that Arif has sustained bullet injuries near to his mouth, “due to his critical condition we referred him Srinagar now,” he said.
