SRINAGAR: A young boy was seriously injured in Koil, one of Pulwama’s major villages after army resorted to aerial firing to disperse the civilian protesters. He has been rushed to SKIMS after the doctors at District Hospital in Pulwama said he needs advanced treatment.

Reports said the area erupted in protest against the incidents that took place in and around Kakpora. They reportedly resorted to stone pelting on a army vehicles. Initially , the police opened fire in air, reports said. It was in this action that a local young man was injured. Unconfirmed reports identified him as Kamran, a ninth standard student.

Reports said that Army barged into Jami Masjid Koil and beat up people who were on Eitika’af. One of them has been beaten s badly that he has been hospitalised now, a local told Kashmir Life.

Koil village in Pulwama is not far away from the IAF base in south Kashmir.
