The death toll in Nowgam shootout has increased to two as 18 years old Anees Ahmad Wani who was injured in the incident succumbed to his injuries on early Monday. Farooq Ahmad, bell boy of the Silver Star from Tral had died on spot.
In continuation to the firing incident at Nowgam Srinagar near Hotel Silver Star in which Anees Ahmad Wani son of Habibullah Wani resident of Dever Inderbugh, Kupwara was injured and was undergoing treatment. The injured succumbed to his injuries at SMHS Hospital on Monday morning.
Two days after the incident chief minister Omar Abdullah had said that government is still unaware that the shootout was a handiwork of militants or not.
