A Youth sustained critical injuries after he was shot on the head by the army during clashes on Monday in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Official sources that a youth identified as Fayaz Ahmad Wani, 22, son of Mohd Ashan Wani, a resident of Chewa Kalan Pulwama was shot on the head by the army while they were withdrawing their forces after a Cordon and Search Operation in the area.
However, there are rumors in the area that the boy has succumbed to his injuries at district hospital Pulwama. Reportedly the rumors have panicked the residents in the area.
Meanwhile, Dr Abdul Rashid Parra Medical Superintendent Pulwama told Kashmir Life over the phone that Wani is still alive and has been referred to Srinagar in the critical condition.
“We got this patient in a highly critical condition from Newa hospital and somehow located his pulse and worked on it till he revived. He is highly critical with a bullet shot in his head, we have sent him in critical care hospital SMHS,” Dr Parra said.
Earlier, clashes broke started between the forces and youth after government forces launched a massive Cordon and search operation in more than a dozen villages in Pulwama district.
