Applauding the role of youth during the recent floods Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir leader and chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah Friday said that he has no words to express thanks to Kashmiri youth who proved to be ‘messiahs’ during flood crisis.

“It gives us immense satisfaction that the conscience of our youth is alive as they set example for others in how to be self-dependent and selfless,” Shah said in a statement.

It adds that Shah visited some flood hit areas, Madina Colony, Allocha Bagh and its adjacent areas, where he distributed water bottles and eatables among the people. He has urged people to celebrate Eid with simplicity and not to forget those in need during the occasion.

Shah also visited the residence of photojournalist Shafat Siddique, who passed away while reporting during recent floods. He expressed sympathy with the bereaved family and prayed for the deceased.

Meanwhile, Shah has welcomed the statement of Pakistan foreign minister Tasnim Aslam in which she has pitched for resolution of Kashmir issue as per UN resolutions or aspirations of the people of Kashmir.
