Youth stabbed in Ganderbal , another beaten to pulp, assailants arrested

A youth was critically injured after he was stabbed by another youth with sharp edged weapon in this central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday.

Police sources said a youth identified as Aqib Farooq Rather was stabbed by a youth namely Nadeem Javaid Sofi @ Sonu after they had some heated argument over an issue.

“Nadeem Javaid stabbed Aqib Farooq with sharp edged weapon after they had some heated argument following some issue” , a police official said, adding the youth sustained grave injuries in neck and collapsed on the spot.

Aqib was immediately rushed to SKIMS Soura in unconscious state where he is undergoing treatment.

Police said the assailant Nadeem has been taken into custody and the matter is being investigated adding a case under FIR no 44 under section 341,323 RPC has been registered.

Meanwhile Ganderbal police while acting against drug peddlers held two drug peddlers along with 37 bottles of Codeine Phosphate.

Police official said that they held two persons Showket Ahmed Bhat son of Ghulam Muhammad Bhat and Irshad Ahmed Mir son of Ali Muhammad Mir residents of Saloora Ganderbal and recovered 137 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession.

Police officials said a case under FIR no 47 under section 8/ 21 NDPS act has been registered against the duo.

In an incident of thrashing Ganderbal police have booked two persons on charges of attempt to murder.

Police sources said that a youth from Nuner was on way to School when two other youths, Owais Ramzan Lone son of Mohi-ud- din and Khalid Hassan Lone son of Gh Hassan Lone both residents of Duderhama Ganderbal thrashed him without any valid reason and damaged his scooty.

Later sources said the youth complained to Ganderbal police about the incident and police swung into action and arrested the duo.

Police officials while confirming the incident said that both the accused have been arrested and a case under FIR no 46 under section 392, 341 RPC has been registered against them.
