SRINAGAR: A young resident of Sonwar, Haseeb Bhat, recently fell victim to a knife attack carried out by two 17-year-old juveniles, whose identities have not been disclosed.
According to a senior police officer, the incident occurred near Zero Inn Rajbagh, where the victim was assaulted by the two boys, resulting in injuries. The injured youth was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Following the attack, the accused individuals attempted to evade capture by jumping into the Jhelum River. However, the Border Security Force (BSF) successfully apprehended them.

The Srinagar Police, in a tweet, stated, “This incident led to the registration of FIR No 22/2023 under sections 341, 323, 307, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code at Kothibagh Police Station. The authorities promptly arrested the accused, and the weapon used in the offense was recovered successfully. Fortunately, Haseeb sustained an arm injury but remains in stable condition.”
