The party announced the reported detention in a post on X, alleging that those in power feared young people who questioned their actions and refused to remain silent.
According to media reports, police personnel entered Rathee’s residence at around 7.48 am after his mother opened the door. Around 50 personnel had reportedly gathered outside the property late on Friday night.
Rathee was reportedly expected to attend the CJP demonstration against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The protest was scheduled to take place at Jantar Mantar on Saturday, with the party seeking accountability over the electoral roll revision process.
The reported detention came amid heightened security arrangements and restrictions in parts of the national capital ahead of the planned demonstration.
