SRINAGAR: After mass protests in virtual world against the molestation of Kashmir actress Zaira Waseem while flying from Delhi, the molester was arrested. The molestation was reported on Saturday night.

Soon after the incident, the actor posted a video on the social media platform a little after midnight, in which she narrated the harrowing incident on board an Air Vistara flight, tears rolling down her cheeks. It triggered mass reaction within hours after the TV and web took over. Various women rights related institutions took a strong note of the incident and went public against the air carrier and the police.

Finally the Mumbai police arrested the molester. The man was identified as Vikash Sachdev by the police and indications suggest he will be produced in the court later today.

Sachdev  is a businessman and has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) besides other sections of the law, NDTV reported.

Sachdev’s wife Divya, however, has accused the actress of resorting to a “stunt”.

“His mama Ji had passed away and he was not in the right frame of mind,” TV channel Times Now reported. “He was feeling very low and asked for a blanket. He wanted to sleep. I am shocked at Zaira’s allegation. The police have taken my husband into custody.” She said why the actress did not “raise an alarm then and there?”

“Why did Zaira tweet two hours later? Zaira had her mother for company. Despite that, the two ladies chose not to make any noise, why?” Divya has alleged.

“My father is an ex-Army officer and my father-in-law is an ex-Income Tax officer. We know how important it is to respect a lady, our family upholds very high values. My husband is a family man. We have a nine-year-old child. Vikas can never misbehave with any lady in any manner,” the TV quoted her saying.

Zaira Waseem is a child actress who has won laurels for her acting skills in Dangal with Aamir Khan. Her another flick Secret Super Star is also getting good reviews.

The mid air molestation has triggered massive reaction. J&K Chef Minister Mehbooba Mufti and her predecessor Omar Abdullah angrily reacted against the incident and sought action.
