Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday said man-wild animal conflict incidents witnessed in 2016-18.

In a written reply to a question of National Conference legislator Mubarak Gul, Minister for Forests Lal Singh said that 30 death cases,253 persons were injured in Man-wild animal conflict incidents during last two years in the Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that Rs 83.70 lacs compensation has paid to NOK of persons who died and RS 105.028 has paid to injured persons.

He informed as per latest census conducted in March 2017, the number of Hangul in Dachigam landscape stand at 182+ 39.39 with an upper and lowest limit of 214 and 138.

He added that no major forest fire incident reported in Jammu region and 71 incidents reported in Kashmir division during 2016-18.
