Srinagar: Dukhtaran-e-Millat chairperson Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi was released on Monday from Central Jail Srinagar.

Andrabi was arrested along with her aide Sofi Fehmeeda on April 26, 2016, in a midnight raid by police station Soura from her residence. She was booked under Public Safety Act and held in Amphalla jail. Later after she suffered Asthma attacks but was not shifted to Srinagar. The last fortnight she was presented before the additional magistrate in Srinagar who quashed her PSA and set her free in the courtroom itself. Police, however, re-arrested her. She was driven to Police Station Safa Kadal lock up in an earlier case.

Later, she was driven to the Central Jail Srinagar wherefrom she was set free on Monday, December 25, 2017.
A spokesperson of Dukhtaran confirmed to Kashmir Life that Aasiyeh Andrabi and Sofi Fahmeeda were released on bail.
