Minister for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone Thursday informed the state legislature that the B Ed colleges which could not fulfill the UGC norms would be closed.
Intervening during the zero hour on a point raised by M. Y Tarigami, the Minister said that Government is very much serious to encourage the private players in education sector to provide better education facilities to the students at their door step.
“Only those private players would be encouraged which follow all the procedural norms for maintaining quality education as per the UGC,” he said.
