Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has condoled the demise of noted literary activist Muhammad Ahsan Ahsan who passed away yesterday.

In her condolence message, the Chief Minister recalled the vociferous activism of the deceased for the protection of Kashmiri language and culture. “His absence from the literary scene would be felt for long”, the Chief Minister, who is also the President of J&K Academy  of Art, Culture & Languages, said in her statement.

Mehbooba Mufti has conveyed her sympathies with the bereaved family of late Ahsan.

Litrary group Adbi Markaz Kamraz has condoled the death of its member.

Muhammad Ahsan Ahsan a noted literary activist and founder member of state’s largest literary organization Adbi Markaz Kamraz died here today after the brief illness. He was 86 and is survived by his wife and a son.
Muhammad Ahsan was referred to Srinagar hospital following the complaint of chest pain. He lost his breath in the hospital.
Ahasn was closely associated with the linguist movement led by Adbi Markaz Kamraaz.
Ahsan worked with AMK from the beginning and vociferously advocated the protection of Kashmir language and culture. Ahsan was uncompromising and always spoke his mind.
  Muhammad Ahsan was a teacher later joined JKAACL as a research officer.As a president of Halqi Adab Hajin, He contributed his expertise to groom the young poets and scholars. He was a member of Idara-i-Awqaaf Hajin and Patron of Hajini Memorial Public School.
 President AMK Dr. Sayed Shujaat Bukhari in his condolence message sent from the USA said that the death of Muhammad Ahsan Ahsan is an irreparable loss to the ongoing literary movement led by AMK
“We have lost a guide, patron and experienced member in his death, it is an irreparable loss,” President AMK Dr. Sayed Shujaat Bukhari said in his message.
Bukhari said that AMK had a long-standing relationship with him, and his demise was a loss not only to him but also to the AMK and the literary community of the state.
 “My deepest condolences to the family. We will stand by his family forever,” he said.
General Secretary AMK Amin Bhat while condoling the demise said that Muhammad Ahsan Ahsan was a senior most literary figure who is known for his contribution to Kashmiri linguistic movement.
“We have lost a literary leader in his him; it is an end of an era we stand by the family of departed soul”
President Literary Forum Bandipora Mubashir Nazki also condoled the death of Muhammad Ahsan.
