Forces on Friday laid a siege in the native village of Zakir Musa, in Noorpora village of Tral.
The siege was followed by intense clashes between civilian protesters and forces.
Reports said that people took to streets and staged protests as forces launched the operation in the native village of Ansar Ghawatul Hind chief Zakir Musa.
Clashes were going on when reports last came in.
