Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan on Monday convened a meeting to review the status of rehabilitation of shopkeepers affected due to the construction of Jehangir Chowk-Rambagh flyover.

Director ERA, Commissioner SMC, Deputy Director Planning, Assistant Commissioner Nazool, Assistant Commissioner Central, Officers from Police, affected shopkeepers and other concerned officials were present in the meeting.

The meeting was informed that ERA Department had constructed Jehangir Complex which has 152 shops and this complex was handed over to SMC for the allotment to the bonafide persons whose cases have been finalized by the High Level Committee (HLC).

Director ERA informed the meeting that some unauthorized persons has occupied the shops in the Jehangir Complex which are earmarked for rehabilitation of shopkeepers who have been dislocated on account of execution of construction of Jehangir Chowk – Rambagh flyover project.

Div Com directed SMC to immediately ensure the vacation of these unauthorized occupants and allotment of shops in favour of bonafide allottees cleared by the HLC.

He further directed Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Police & Director ERA Kashmir to provide necessary assistance to the SMC in the process of vacation of un-authorized / illegal occupants from the said complex.

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir will personally monitor the vacation of illegal occupants from the said complex.
