Parts of Pulwama district in southern part of Kashmir is observing a shutdown on Friday to mourn the killing of a militant in a gunfight with forces at Samboora late Thursday evening, reports said

Reports said that youth also clashed with forces and pelted stones on them to protest the killing of a militant.

Forces fired teargas shells, triggering further clashes.

Two army men were also killed in the gunfight while two more militants are believed to have escaped from the cordon.

Mobile Internet continued to remain suspended today in the district. It was snapped last night after the gunfight erupted in Samboora.
