A Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) militant was killed in a gunfight with forces in Samboora village of Pampore in southern part of Kashmir’s Pulwana district, police said on Friday.

The official twitter handle of Jammu and Kashmir police said said that the slain militant was identified as Badar of JeM. “He was involved in a number of militant acts in south Kashmir,” the tweet reads.

Two army men were also killed in the gunfight that erupted last night.

An official said the gunfight erupted after 50RR, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF cordoned off the area after inputs about the presence of militants.

Meanwhile, clashes erupted in Pulwama town between protesters and the forces.
