KL Report

Srinagar

Police is investigating the mysterious death of two brothers in a south Kashmir village. They slept for the night normally but were found dead in their beds Sunday morning.

Police identified them as Abdul Aziz Dar and Mohammad Abdullah Dar sons of Muhammad Ramzan Dar who lived in Wanpora hamlet of Qoimoh in Kulgam district. Police said they have initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC in this regard. One of them was 72 and another 74 years of age. They had slept in a single room and both have families.

Reports not confirmed by the police immediately said they might have died because of asphyxia caused by massive smoke in the room. It was caused by fire-pot felling on their bed. But police said they are investigating the case.

In a separate incident in Srinagar, a 60 year old unidentified person was found unconscious near CD hospital Dalgate. He was shifted to SHMS Hospital Srinagar where doctors declared him brought dead. Police initiated inquest proceedings in this case as well.
