Jammu and Kashmir police arrested two drug peddlers in Islamabad and Srinagar, police spokesperson said on Wednesday.

“Acting on specific information, a police party of Police Post general bus stand Islamabad, headed by SI Gowhar Ahmad Malla established a naka at KP road Islamabad. During the naka checking one person identified as  Ghulam Mustafa Wani son of  Ghulam Nabi resident of Sarnal Islamabad was intercepted. On checking 10 bottles of codeine phosphate were recovered from his possession,” reads the official statement.

A case FIR number 33/17 under section 21, 22 NDPS was registered and investigation was taken up.

Meanwhile, another person Tawseef Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Gani Sheikh was arrested when a police party of Police Post Bona Mohalla raided his house at Malpora Habakadal, Srinagar. “The said person tried to run away after noticing the movement of police patrol. The police party chased and overpowered him. On his search 124 tablets were recovered,” reads the statement.

A case FIR number 11/2017 was registered against him in Police Station MR Gunj and investigation was taken up.
