Amidst ‘Jail Bharo Tehreek’ against ‘drastic court verdicts’ against Kashmiris, a district court in Islamabad, convicted two prisoners to life imprisonment rising the total up to 30.

District session court Islamabad awarded Fayaz Ahmad Shah R/O Babe Nar Shopian and Mohammad Syed Bhat R/O Bijbehara Islamabad life imprisonment. The duo is facing imprisonment since last seven years.

By awarding Fayaz and Syed, life imprisonment the total number of Kashmiris facing lifer has gone up to 30.

Hurriyat (G) spokesman while expressing his deep anguish and sorrow over the latest court verdict against two Kashmiri Youth said that the judgment is biased and has been issued at the instance of ruling party and administration.
“They (Authorities) are implicating innocent youth in fictitious cases under the garb of judiciary,” Said Hurriyat(G) spokesman.

He added, “The said youth were arrested for no reason and now under the garb of law, the administration is hell-bent upon to make their future bleak. The verdict is political vengeance and there is no space in a civilized and democratic setup for such type of immoral and unconstitutional actions.”

Hurriyat (G) in an appeal to international human rights organizations, urged to take cognizance of the grave situation and impress upon the authorities to adhere the international guidelines with respect to these prisoners and use its office to stress the concern quarters to set free all prisoners without any delay.
