Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, SM Sahai held a police public interaction in which respectable, senior citizens, Panches, Sarpanches, ex-militants and representatives of traders in Kupwara participated. A police statement said here, Tuesday.

The statement added that Sahai interacted with the representatives of Beopar Mandal and respectables of Kupwara at District Police Lines, Kupwara.

Sahai also interacted with the representatives of ‘ex-militant welfare association Kupwara’ and heard their grievances and demands. IG assured them of full cooperation from J&K Police in meeting their genuine demands including their rehabilitation. The statement said.

According to police statement, during the interaction, people appreciated the role of Kupwara Police and informed IGP Kashmir, that people have faith and confidence in police and feel free to visit Police Stations without any hesitation to get their concerns redressed. Public representatives present on the occasion stated that due to people-friendly-policing by Kupwara police, people are now cooperating with the police in every sphere to maintain law and order and to contain crime in the District.

Sahai later inaugurated the Administrative block of DySP DAR in DPL and chaired a meeting with senior Army, Police & CRPF officers. He also held a Darbar with officers/officials of DPL Kupwara and heard their grievances.
