Five persons were injured in two separate road accidents across the valley, a police statement said.
A Motorcycle bearing registration number JK01M-0935 collided with another Motorcycle bearing registration number JK05B-6415 at Sarch Ganderbal, resulting in injuries to both the motorcyclist and two pillions. All the injured have been shifted to Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, an unknown vehicle hit and injured Ghulam Nabi resident of Kanalwan, Islamabad. The injured was shifted to District Hospital, Islamabad for treatment.
The statement added that in its drive against drug peddlers, Shopian police arrested two peddlers and recovered 37Kgs of Poppy straw from them.
“On a tip off, a police party of police station Zanipra established a Naka at Reban crossing. During the checking, police party intercepted an Alto 800 car. Upon its checking 37 Kgs of Poppy straw was recovered. Two peddlers boarding the car were taken into custody. The arrested peddlers were identified as Fayaz Ahamd Sheikh and Farooq Ahamd Sheikh,” the statement informed.
Police have registered a case FIR number 25/2015 under section 8/22 NDPS Act and investigation was taken up.
