A police party along with Army recovered large quantity of arms and ammunition last from a hide-out in a Nallah in Bandipora.

“On a tip off, Bandipora police and Army launched a search operation in Bhoothu Nallah, Bandipora. During the search the joint team busted a hideout and recovered large quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered from the hide out,” a police statement said.

The recoveries include 01 RPG Booster, 03 RPG Rockets, 04 cylinder plastic jars containing explosive material, 234 AK rounds, the statement said.

A case FIR number 68/2015 under section 7/25 IA Act was registered in police station Bandipora and investigation has been taken up.

Meanwhile, police have solved an ATM fraud by arresting the fraudster who had fraudulently exchanged the ATM card of the victims in Pampore area last evening.

“One Mushtaq Ahmad Mantoo registered a complaint regarding an ATM fraud. In this regard, a case was registered and investigation was taken up. The investigating officer collected CCTV footage from the ATM that led to the arrest of Khursheed Ahmad Bandroo son of Abdul Razaq resident of Banderpora Khansahab,” the statement said.

On his questioning, the statement further said, Khursheed admitted that he had offered help to the Mushtaq Ahmad Mantoo and after transaction he tactfully exchanged his ATM. He later withdrew a cash of Rs 35000 from the account Mushtaq.

Police have registered a case FIR number 33/2015 under section 406,418,380 RPC against him and further investigation is on.
