Eight persons were injured in different road traffic accidents across the valley while a residential house was damaged in fire, a police statement said.

A Maruti car bearing registration number JK01P/3083 rammed in to a tree at Nambal, Awantipora, resulting in injuries to two persons. Both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.

In another accident, a Maruti car bearing registration JK01G/4236 hit and injured a pedestrian Mohammad Iqbal Shah resident of Tiker at Tiker, Trehgam, Kupwara. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.

Four passengers: Rubeena wife of Mohammad Rafiq, Hajra wife of Abdul Rashid Malik, Zoona wife of Shabir Bhat and Mohammad Rafiq Khan son of Majnoon residents of Parray-pora, Kalaroos, Kupwara were injured when a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK09/3963, they were travelling in skidded off the road at Zangli near Forest Check post.  All the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital, Kupwara for treatment.

In Buchoo, Anantnag, a Tavera vehicle bearing registration number JK12/6312 skidded off the road resulting in injuries to a lady Gulshana Bano wife of Abdul Aziz Malik resident of Watnad, Anantnag. The injured lady was shifted to hospital for treatment.

 Meanwhile fire damaged a residential house got in Uri area of Baramulla district last evening.

The statement said that fire broke out in the residential house of Bashir Ahmad Khan son of Dost Mohammad at Kaligi. The house was partially damaged in this incident. Fire was brought under control with the help of fire tenders and Police.
