KL Report
Srinagar
As per a police spokesperson situation remained largely peaceful throughout the Kashmir valley, though there were isolated incidents of stone pelting at few places in which eight police personnel were injured.
“Miscreants pelted stones at Kurhama, Badergund in Ganderbal and Safakadal in Srinagar”, he said. Police and other government forces exercised maximum restraint while dealing with the law and order situations.
It is pertinent to mention here that as per the orders of district authorities, restrictions were announced for Srinagar only, apparently to prevent any untoward incidents following the death of a 34 year old Altaf Ahmad Wani by the hands of CRPF personnel.
No movement was being allowed in any part of the city. The heavy deployment of police and forces had clamped curfew in whole of the city.
Restrictions were also imposed in other major towns and the district headquarters of the valley as well which included Islamabad, Kulgam,Pulwama, Bijbehara, Shopian, Budgam, Beerwa, Ganderbal, Sopore, Baramulla, Pattan, Bandipora and Pampore.
It is a very sensitive situation as it effects the poor societies
freedom is the only solution..
