One person died while five other were injured in road traffic accidents across the valley, according to a police statement.

“Mohammad Ashraf Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Kralpora, Budgam succumbed to his injuries while he was taken to Chadoora hospital,” police spokesman said.

Giving details, he said that he was severely injured when he had taken his head out from the window of a swift car bearing registration number JK01N/7077 while vomiting. He was hit by an unknown load carrier at Kralpora.

In other different mishaps, five different persons were injured when hit by vehicles.

Shabir Ahmad Zadoo son of Ghulam Mohudin resident of Bhat Mohalla Nowgam, Sumbal was hit and injured by a Sumo bearing registration number JK01K/9969. He was riding a cycle. The statement said that he has been shifted to hospital for treatment.

At Panzinarah Sumba, an unknown vehicle hit and injured a pedestrian, Rehman Teeli son-in-law of Abdul Rehman Teeli resident of Waskura, Ganderbal, the police statement said.

The injured was shifted to JVC Srinagar for treatment.

In another accident, “a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK04B/8007 and Innova vehicle bearing registration JK01T/0272 collided near Nilgrath National Highway, Sonamarg, in the jurisdiction of police station Sonamarg, resulting in injuries to the Sumo driver Irshad Ahmad Parry son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Check Kawoosa Magam, Budgam,” the police said.

The injured was shifted to Public Health Center Sonamarg.

An unknown vehicle hit and injured a pedestrian near Fruit Mandi Parimpora, Srinagar. The injured was shifted to SKIMS, Soura for treatment.

In a similar accident, “a Maruti Car bearing registration number Jko1D/2168 hit and injured a lady, Hadiya daughter of Ghulam Mohammad Dar resident of Hyderpora, in the jurisdiction of Police Station Sadder, Srinagar.”

The injured lady was shifted to Hospital for treatment.
