11 ‘Prominent Figures’ Join Congress

At least eleven ‘prominent figures’ formally joined the Congress at party Headquarters in Srinagar on Sunday.

State Congress president Prof Saif-u-Din Soz while welcome all the new entrants reiterated that Congress would emerge as the single largest party in forthcoming Assembly elections.

Soz hoped that newly entrants would further make the party robust and vibrant and would serve the people of the State selflessly.

Those who joined the party included former Minister Gulam Hassan Geelani, former bureaucrat Farooq Ahmed Renzu, Wali Mohd Dar, Shiekh Gulzar, former Executive President Jammu and Kashmir Bank Tafazul Hussain, Bashir Ahmad Shah, Gulam Hassan Rather, Abdul Rashid Malla, Mushtaq Ahmad Bazaz, and Waseem Shalla.

Soz asserted that he had proved his point that Congress Party had become a vibrant situation in all the three regions of the state.

On the sidelines of the function,former Director Information, Farooq Ahmed Renzu to CNS that Congress party is the only party in the State which could ensure peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Congress does not believe in hollow slogans and it means business. Congress party would change the destiny of people and would help them to lead a peaceful and prosperous life,” Renzu said.
