SRINAGAR: A minor boy drowned while bathing in Malni Nallah at Chassana in the Mahore Sub Division of Reasi district on Monday. The boy has been identified as Dheeraj Singh, a 12-year-old and the son of Puran Singh, a resident of Banna, Chassana in Reasi.
According to reports, Dheeraj and his cousins had attended a wedding function in Tuli Banna and decided to take a bath in Malni Nallah during their return. Unfortunately, he slipped into deep water and drowned despite his cousins’ rescue efforts. His cousins raised an alarm, prompting nearby individuals to rush to the scene. After strenuous attempts by the locals, the boy’s body was eventually recovered.
The body has been taken to Chassana Hospital for post-mortem examination. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and filed a case with the police.
