A meeting of the Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) senior leaders, office bearers and workers was Saturday held at Mirwaiz Manzil, Rajouri Kadal in which they discussed the ongoing political situation, affairs of the party and resistance movement and said “government of India and its local collaborators including the PDP-BJP coalition government in the state were trying to force people in giving up on their struggle for right to self determination.”
An AAC spokesman said the organisation would continue to work towards fulfillment of the vision of its founder and top religious and social leader, Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and not rest until Kashmir’s resistance movement reaches its logical conclusion.
During the meeting, Government of India’s decision of providing domicile certificates to the West Pakistan refugees for changing the demography was condemned and serious concern was expressed over the execution of such anti-Muslim policies.
An AAC statement said such harsh decisions would not be tolerable to either the freedom-loving people or the resistance leadership and all programmes that would be given by the unified resistance leadership to protest against this decision would be followed by AAC in letter and spirit.
The AAC meeting made it clear to Government of India that Jammu Kashmir is a disputed territory whose disputed nature is accepted at the international level and such decisions of Government of India and its puppets running the coalition government in the state would change its disputed nature, which would not be allowed to be executed at any cost.
The AAC leaders in meeting also said that the people of Kashmir are neither communal nor shortsighted and do not oppose to providing better facilities to these refugees and in fact suggests that if Government of India is serious about their settlement, they should settle these refugees in any of the Indian states once and for all.
The meeting strongly denounced the use of brutal force by police and government forces on the people in every nook and corner of Kashmir while carrying nocturnal raids, ransacking houses, beating inmates and carrying arbitrary arrests of youth.
