14 Medical Shops Sealed in South Kashmir for Drug Law Violations

   

SRINAGAR: Fourteen medical shops were sealed on Monday during a joint inspection drive in Shopian district for violations of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

The action followed directions from the Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, reads a DIPR statement.

“Drugs Control Officers, in coordination with Tehsildars, inspected shops in multiple villages across Hermain and Keller tehsils, including Pehlipora, Kellar, Mastpora, Mashwara, Wanpura, Batmurran, Narpora, Hermain, Alamgunj, Kumdalan, Nagisharan, Hajipora, Nildora, Kharwara, and D.K. Pora,” it reads.

The shops were sealed for failing to install computerised billing systems, not maintaining records of scheduled formulations, and violating licence conditions despite repeated instructions.

Officials also reviewed CCTV footage of the establishments as part of the inspection process.

The district administration said inspections will continue and warned all medical establishments to comply with the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
