SRINAGAR: The School Education Department of the Union Territory of Ladakh has ordered a series of transfers and postings involving principals, zonal education officers and headmasters across the region, according to an official order issued on Tuesday.
The transfers, made in the interest of public administration under Order No. 43-LA (SED) of 2026, were approved by the competent authority and notified by Administrative Secretary, School Education Department, Bhanu Prabha, IAS.
As part of the reshuffle, Sonam Dorjay Namgail has been transferred from the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Kargil, to DIET Leh as Principal. Among other senior-level changes, Sonam Smanla has been shifted from Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Sankoo to GHSS Khalsi. Tsewang Paljor, who was serving at Khalsi, has been posted as Deputy Chief Education Officer, Kharu.
Begum Zebun Nissa has been transferred from GHSS Tangtse to PM Shri GHSS Thiksay, while Tsewang Dolma has been posted as Head of Department at DIET Leh after her transfer from GHSS Turtuk.
The order also includes several changes among Zonal Education Officers and headmasters. Hussain Hakim has been posted as Zonal Education Officer, Nyoma, after serving at Government High School Nimoo. Shakeela Parveen has been moved from Nyoma to PM Shri Government High School Shey as Senior Headmaster. Mohsin Ali has been transferred from Shey to DIET Leh, while Dawa Putit has been posted as In-Charge Headmaster at Government High School Nimoo.
Among other transfers, Sangay Phuntsog has been assigned charge of PM Shri Government High School Chuchot Yokma after being attached to the Chief Education Officer’s office since March this year. Sonam Dolma has been transferred from Gia to Chushot Gongma, while Kunzang Dorje has been posted as Zonal Education Planning Officer, Khalsi, after serving at Wanla.
Naz Parveen has been shifted from Thasgam Sankoo to Biathang Shilikchay, and Mohd Ishaq has been posted to Thasgam Sankoo following his transfer from Yokma Kharboo.
To address vacancies in schools without regular headmasters, the department has placed Masters Thinless Angmo and Deachan Nilza Angmo at the disposal of the Chief Education Officer, Leh. They will temporarily oversee headmaster duties in schools where the posts remain vacant until permanent arrangements are made.
